Program Facilitators x2


Reporting to -Program Manager
Tenure - Full-Time, 10-month contract
Start Date - September 2024 - June 2025

Salary 52,000 - 55,000 pro-rata

Role Purpose

The primary aim of this role is to provide senior activity leadership and experiential learning in a range of activities available on and off-site. This role involves planning, leading, and facilitating sessions, including briefing, de-briefing, and supervising participants. The Program Coordinator is responsible for preparing venues and equipment, ensuring all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored correctly.

Key Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Outdoor Education Recreation or related fields
- Three to five years of successful experience in a similar role
- Ability to mentor and supervise staff
- Peak body qualifications in relevant Outdoor Education disciplines
- Bronze Medallion, Community Surf or similar
- Surf Instructor Level 1 or willingness to obtain
- Snorkel Guide or willingness to obtain
- Experience in both center-based and journey programs
- Minimum Apply First Aid certification
- Car license heavy vehicle license advantageous


Other Requirements
- Working with Children Check
- Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and evenings
- Willingness to travel within Victoria
- Current drivers license
- Willingness to participate in journey and overnight programs and duty roster
- Adherence to all policies and procedures


Key Accountabilities and Activities
 

Delivering Program Services
- Understand group needs and objectives
- Assist with coordinating logistics of activity programs
- Set up equipment and prepare activities
- Deliver programs ensuring best practices and regulatory compliance
- Assist the Program Manager in managing client groups


Communicating Effectively
- Convey ideas and information clearly
- Assist with briefings
- Use multiple communication channels
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaborate effectively


Managing Self
- Commitment to self-development and learning new skills
- Establish clearly defined goals
- Build and maintain a team culture


Other Duties
- Assist with catering, cleaning, and grounds maintenance
- Perform on-call duties as required
